The Best Placement Of Google Ads in Your Blog or Web Site
You have to know the best placement of Google Ads or Adsense codes in your blog. You have to place your Google Ads in the areas where the visitors normally click the links in your web site or blog page. Based on my experience and on the recommendation of Google, here are the areas where you should place your Google Ads or Adsense codes:

The boxes above are numbered 1 to 4. 1 is for the strongest performance while 4 is the weakest. They are also colored by Google from dark orange to light yellow in the same order (strongest to weakest).
Type of Google Ads To Place In The Boxes
Visitors action is also affected by the size and type of Google Ads you place in your page. Normally, text ads perform better than images. But, let’s talk about the sizes of Google Ad you could put in the boxes.
In Box 1, you better place the large rectangular Google Ads with the width ranges from 300px to 336px. In long horizontal boxes, you better place horizontal Ads with width of 728px. If not fit, you may use the horizontal Ads with 468px width. In long vertical boxes, you may place vertical Google ads with width of 120px or 160px and height of 600px or 240px, depending on the layout of your page.
In square boxes, you have a choice of 250px and 125px of square Google Ads. On the extreme left side bar, you may place a Google ad link unit. Remember to check the limits of the Google Ad placement you’re allowed to place on each page. You may check the limits here.
Placing Adsense Codes in Your Blogger Template
You may insert your Adsense codes to setup your Google Ads as per the best placement above. To do this, login to your Blogger Account and click Template. In the template, browse and look for div id=”content”, div id=”sidebar” and div id=”footer”. In content and in footer, you may place your large rectangle or long horizontal Adsense codes. In sidebar, you may place the long vertical Adsense codes or small square or rectangle Adsense codes.
If you don’t know how to read HTML and CSS codes of the template, just insert your choice of Adsense codes and preview. Then, you will see the effect of the Adsense code you just inserted. To center your codes, type <center> before the code and </center> after it. If you want to learn more of HTML, read this or this. If you’re happy with the results, then save the template and republish.
However, there are still other factors that may affect your visitors’ decision to click the links on your page. Sometimes, Google Ads at the bottom of the article perform better as visitors read first before they click your links. To address this, check the performance of your Google Ads regularly by using Adsense channels. To learn more about this Adsense Channel, click here and there.
Hope this helps you in optimizing the monetization of Google Adsense in your web site or blog. Remember to check the performance of your Ads and discover the best placement of Google Ads on your pages.
