Online Contests with Top Prizes: A Hot Link Building Idea For Blogs

Online contest is really becoming popular as a link building and blog promotion strategy for many blogs. Most of these online contests offer an attractive top prizes for the winners. Top prizes being offered include Nintendo Wii, cash prize up to $1,000 and other useful products.

Problogger Blog Contest

Problogger has a blog contest dubbed as Group Writing Project Day up to May 10 2007 of submitters’ local time:

• Write a “top 5″ post in your blog. Be as creative as you’d like - take it in any direction you want as long as it relates to the topic. Feel free to write your post in your own first language.
• Once you’ve posted your post, fill up and submit this form.

Contest Rules:
Participant gets one entry to the draw for every point earned. Points are earned, as follows:

• 1 point for leaving comment on any post in Bento Box Review using a working email.
• 5 points for the backlinks from your blog and email the blog author about this.
• 20 points for review the blog on your site, 150 words or more. Plus 3 points if you mention the contest in your review. Then, email the author about this.

In addition to this, the blog author (Rick Uyesugi) will also send the participants some link love. He will list all of the back-linkers and reviews in his blog in order of completion.
