Wow! Great post. I started my blog with Wordpress but switched to Blogger because it was much easier for a newbie like myself. I have been thinking about switching back to Wordpress because I keep hearing such great things about it. After reading this, you have convinced me. I hate how Blogger republishes old posts that I edit. It is nice to know that Wordpress doesn’t do that. Thanks for the info!

Yeah,I made the big switch in January 09 from Blogger first to
Wordpress.com and then quickly stepped up to WordPress.org. At first I was concerned about losing all the posts I had created in Blogger, but as time went on I simply moved on and now have an even 100 new posts at my WordPress.org site.

Now I am getting spoiled by the look and feel of well-executed WP themes and can spot a Blogger (or Blogspot) site from a mile off.
Somehow WP just seems more professional and fully integrated with some major SEO advantages as well as the option to ‘monetize’ (not fond of that word) or make it a perfectly legitimate commercial site.
I agree with all 5 points here and would add: WordPress.org has some great plugins, and growing all the time.

Most important there is a vibrant community who are active on the WP forums. These good folks are ready and willing to step up to offer pro bono advice and tips to users that are occasionally faced with technical problems.

Wordpress users are very elitist over their blog platform. I use Blogger and I like it. I tried Wordpress out (and many other blog platforms) and for me Blogger is the one.
